Flowers Breather

For this video, I add some variation on the form in the XYZ axes and the size of each object, in order to get a different complexity.
The raw image (no color light, no camera movement) show how the field work, and it show how each flower act now in different time.

Breathing X infinity (or 400)

This is how this motion graphic project it's going to be. I build some simple shape for in order to create a breather in 2 part. The first one blow the air, the second one blow some smoke (polygon). I recreate a field in order to get a more detail render and to create a more complex image.
First, this is how the breather work.
Now, I just have to multiply by 400 the single breather to get a small field. I add some light in order to get a different perception of the all field.

And this is how it look when it's animated.
Next step :
- Make it even bigger
- Deform the field to create some more "mountainy" form
- Delay each particles system
- Get a more interesting camera movement
- Activate the shadow on my light…

And, some pictures of an other breather I tried, but it's too detail and realistic, he didn't feet with the aim of the project.

Mechanical Breathing experimentation

Project : Motion graphic

For this motion graphic project, I'll try to "represent" some mechanical movement, like they are living or breathing.
It's the same way that a satellite open his solar panel or the opening of a compressor on a car, it's just some mechanical part moving, but it's look like living thing. It's the same idea that we can say a robot is living, but he is not, cause it's just an automatic and(or) programed action.

My work are going to be base only on geometric form and non-organic shape, only mechanical.

Experimentation #1 :
First attempt for a mechanical movement. I just focus this experimentation on the opening movement of the form, and adding some deformation and extra rotation + one moving camera.

Experimentation #2 :
Step 1 :
For this second experiment, I create a more "complex" form, create a small animation like a flower, duplicate the all form for a more mechanical effect, and delay all the animation to get separate movement.

Step 2 :
I add some deformation, rotation and movement to get a more complex and detail movement, like the all thing are just one big form, not only a multiplication of the same "flower".

Step 3 :
Same movement as the step 2 + a moving camera, to get more detail and to increase the breathing(living) effect.

Step 4 :
First test of lightning and texturing to see what can happen with transparent form.

The effects are interesting, but it's maybe to fast to really get and understand the movement.
For the next experimentation :
- More sophisticated movements
- Slower animation
- Brighter background (maybe)
- Bigger transparent parts

Virtual to augmented

Video mapping Project : Final version

After doing some simple experimentation by modeling small law poly model, I focused my project on form both complex and simple in order to have more possibilities in animation for the projection.

Video mapping 1 from mat_tes on Vimeo.

After some modification, I try to print something like a floating island, but it appears that the form was more interested up side down.

Modification after modification ( and some mistake), I finally end up with a low poly "3 legs animal".

The most interesting part in this video mapping project was the fact that we can work with a print model of a real 3D object. That means we can make complicate form and do some fast projection on it. By knowing this fact, I was wondering what can happen if I modified my 3D object, make a video, and project it on the paper version.
Thanks to this fact, it was easy to create some fake moving light or moving part, or heaven mapping a skin on this object in order to give him new expression.

My inspiration for the last part of the video was both the mecha universe and the form of my "animal".

The final animation.

Low poly experimentation

Here some mod I try to do by using some 3d max option just to play with the polygone.

Mr cape final

With this video I wanted to illustrate multiple exposure in motion.

Mr cape from mat_tes on Vimeo.

Here some still image of the short video.

By this experimentation I just want to see how a multiple exposure will look like in motion.
The problem with a pictures of multiple exposure is that it represent a motion, but it don't move ... that's strange.

Multiple exposure project #1

The idea of this project is to film a man (me) wearing a cape.

First idea, bad because we can't see any movement, only a trace.

Small explanation :

What it's going to look like (fake) :

What I want to do is to separate the cape of the body and creating a sort of space where the cape is, by compositing only the movement of the cape.
With this short movie, I want to split space with movement. So, if Mr cape create a space and people or car are in, they're will be stop.
